About this wine

The 2011 growing season surpassed the 2010 for lack of heat and still holds the record for coldest season in recent history.  Fruitfulness is determined in the previous year, however, so the cool 2010 spring resulted in very low yields for 2011.  This was in our favour, as the vine had less “work” to do in this cooler year, so the fruit ripened nicely, had extremely long hang-times. This provided us with a lovely, elegant blend. Barrel matured for 16 months in small French oak (46% new).
