Below the Road…
Thousands of years ago, glaciers carved through the Okanagan Valley. In its wake, it left deep lakes, rolling hills, and fertile soils. Naramata Road acts as a divider – above the road, the soils are filled with large stones and clay, making it difficult to farm. Below the road, the soils are much sandier, filled with glacial till and sedimentary deposits. Our vineyards may just have a road separating them, but the terroir is a world apart.
